At Lewis Curzon Skincare, we are tremendously proud of our constant commitment to become a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious business.
This unwavering dedication to identifying and promoting positive environmental working practices – often at greater financial cost to our business than more widely-available, more traditional, and less sustainable production methods and materials – underpins our entire ethos and existence as a business.
Sustainability is the compass which defines and guides our day-to-day decision-making.
‘One World One Body’
This commitment has inspired Lewis Curzon Skincare’s own brand of cosmetic and toiletries products – ‘One World One Body’ (in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects).
‘One World One Body’ harmonises our two key objectives as a business :
- To improve environmental and sustainability practices and consumer awareness ; and
- To improve skincare hygiene and to broaden consumer awareness of the tangible health benefits resulting from a healthy skincare routine.
Our ‘One World One Body’ logo – which can be seen on our website and on our product packaging – expresses the bond between personal, individual, care and the wider responsibility of our community to be considerate of and to look after our planet.
One cannot be sustained without the other. We only have one body to look after and to nurture. We only have one world to take care of and to protect.
Our Sustainability Pledge
As a business, we strongly believe that we have a responsibility to use our platform and our standing within the cosmetic and toiletries industry to go further with our sustainability and ethical commitments beyond merely words and ‘marketing speak’. It matters deeply to us that our words are backed up by clear, inspiring, action – action to inspire and engage our clients and customers, wherever they are based throughout the world – in order to show how we can all take decisive and positive action, now, to safeguard our planet for many future generations.
This commitment can be seen in our choice of 100% re-usable and recyclable glass and aluminium bottles for our products instead of plastic bottles, our choice of >90% chemically-recycled PP plastic bottle label material for our products instead of standard PP plastic label material, as well as our choice of 100% recyclable order postage boxes (which are themselves made of 75% recycled materials).
Another example is our proud partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects. Eden works globally to reduce extreme poverty and to restore healthy forests by employing local people to plant millions of trees across the globe every week (for more information about Eden’s vital and inspiring work, and how our partnership can support their tree-planting initiatives worldwide, please visit : www.edenprojects.org).
Every 15p which we donate to Eden from the sale of our ‘One World One Body’-branded products will result in a tree being planted :
- 15p from the sale of every ‘One World One Body’ Travel-Size Luxury Hand Cleanser (i.e. 1 tree planted by Eden) ;
- 30p from the sale of every ‘One World One Body’ Shower Gel (i.e. 2 trees planted by Eden) ;
- 75p from the sale of every ‘One World One Body’ Hand Wash (i.e. 5 trees planted by Eden) ; and
- £1.50 from the sale of every ‘One World One Body’ Eau De Toilette (i.e. 10 trees planted by Eden).
Confirmation of our partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects is included on the packaging of each of our ‘One World One Body’ -branded products, together with the reminder that – by supporting our business and by purchasing our products – you are not only looking after your hands, body and skin.
You are also helping to create real, positive, change and to take care of our planet, too.
